Some good and bad in the first half.

The first half of Arch Manning’s performance against Louisiana-Monroe has been a study in contrasts. Throughout the season, he’s displayed excellent touch on deep throws and generally maintained accuracy when he has time and an open first read. However, when faced with pressure or the need to process more complex plays, he’s encountered some challenges.

His first interception came from not sensing the pressure and fixating on his primary target for too long. The second, right before halftime, resulted from delays in his reads; he was slow to transition from his first route and late with the slant throw, leading to an overthrown ball that was intercepted after deflecting off a defender.

One of the strengths of Steve Sarkisian’s offense is that it demands accountability from talented quarterbacks like Manning just as it has from Quinn Ewers. There’s no opportunity to coast after a mistake; Manning will need to navigate through these errors and maintain his confidence. It will be interesting to see how he responds
